Classes meet on Monday evenings throughout the year from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. We meet at The Mangan Banquet Center,
1585 Grange Hall Road, Beavercreek, OH (Map). This is a newly renovated facility with a beautiful wood floor.

There is a $4.00 fee for each visit with the first visit being free. Reduced fees can be arranged for students or others on a limited/fixed income.

Two levels of classes are offered, Fundamentals and General.

Fundamentals: These classes, offered between September and June, focus on the fundamental steps and formations of Scottish Country Dancing. The emphasis is on providing new dancers, or dancers desiring some refresher training, the basic skills needed to dance Scottish country dances. The next FUNdamentals class will begin on September 15, 2008 and last approximately 16 weeks. We will also host a free evening for Introduction to Socttish Country Dancing on September 8. General: This class, offered year round, is for dancers who have completed the FUNdamentals class or otherwise have developed a good knowledge of the basic steps and formations of Scottish Country Dancing. The emphasis is on good social dancing skills, with technique instruction intended to refine basic steps and formations and develop skills in more advanced steps, formations and dances. Most Monday nights are intermediate level classes, featuring a mix of technique instruction and dances. Some Monday nights will be social classes, with less technique instruction.

Scottish Country Dancing will put joy in your feet and a smile on your face. Come join us for a fun evening of beginner-friendly dances and share the excitement of this lively social dance form.

Light refreshments will be served. Wear comfortable, soft-soled shoes. Singles, couples, or groups are welcome.

Scottish Country Dancing is the social and ballroom dance of Scotland, currently enjoyed worldwide. Coming into its present form in 18th century Scotland, it has continued in popularity through the ensuing centuries. For some sample videos of Scottish Country Dancing, check out our YouTube site.

Any and all are welcome to join us and give Scottish Country Dancing a try. All you need are a pair of soft-soled shoes, comfortable clothes, and a fun-loving spirit. No experience required, you don't need a partner, you don't need to be Scottish, and beginners are always welcome! (And no, you don't have to wear a kilt!)
